.. so good to be doing what you love

Kenneth is probably having the best year of his life doing the two things he loves most - training & playing squash and studying at one of the best college in the world.

Recently, he also befriended Jon and me on his facebook which had a recent status update - 'In a relationship with Elise Ransom'. Photo of the two to them on top. We wouldn't know how long it will last but at least he is happy for now.

... so good to catch up with old colleagues

Christine was in town and we met for dinner with some of the other gals from the team at PuTien, Marina Square. The food was good but the company was great. It was surprising how open Christine was to the issues that Infor were facing. Seems like it is not only in marketing but throughout the organisation and everyone knows it.

She shared an occasion when Melissa Puls were presenting to the middle managers and Jim S shut her down with offensive word and language. HR and Robert did not even stand up for her. She broke down when she tripped and fell in the transit at the airport. Boy - life is tough at Infor. So glad that I am out of that mad house.

.. so good to pass PLC

Jonathan got the results of his PLC exams yesterday and passed. Another hurdle cleared - with his practice certificate, he can be called to bar once he complete his pupillage.

..so good to meet up with the team again

Unfortunately, the reason is not so good - it was the farewell lunch for Serene Swee. I guess it is bitter sweet - bitter because the team is really breaking up; sweet in that Serene has found a better job with IBM. We met for an extended lunch at Shuduku Japanese restaurant in the basement of Raffles City.

It is an interesting set-up - the best description is a Japanese version of Marche. Same process - get a card, order the food and it is charged to the card and pay on your way out based on what was consumed. But the dishes were unique - Japanese Pizza (pizza with yasabi), Japanese curry with rosoti, ...).

We had a great time catching up and gossiping about the latest developments at Infor. However, it included some bad news of Peter Chiu leaving on that day. Sigh ...

.. so good to start 2010 with a family lunch

Connie, Jon and I started the year with a traditional family brunch on 3rd Jan. As many of the East Ocean staff has move to a new restuarant (Victoria Peak), we decided to try it out.
Victoria Peak Chinese Cuisine Restaurant Official Opening Ceremony

The review was great but frankly we prefer the tim sum at East Ocean. SO we will probably return back to East Ocean Teochew Restaurant for our future family brunches.
