...so good to celebrate 55 with family

So good to celebrate 55 with the entire family (including Ken who leaves for US in a few days and may not be back for future celebrations). For a change we went for a Japanese meal at Keyaki (Pan Pacific Hotel). The Teppanyaki was great, the sparkling sake was sweet enough for Connie and the whole evening was perfect including fireworks outside (not for me but for the closing of the Youth Olympic Games). That day also marked a change in my looks (like it?)

Celebrated Connie's birthday at Brazil Churrasco along 6th Avenue. She always wanted to try out this outlet.

It was a meat overload but was fun ....

so good to try new food...

We tried a new cuisine (for Connie, Andrea and Jon) - Korean dinner at Jang Won along Mosque Street for Father's Day celebrations.

In fact, Connie likes it so much that we went back there to celebrate Connie and Oi Lin's birthday (Fong Oi's treat) as Sau Chee also enjoys Korean food.

We celebrated Ken's 22nd birthday last Saturday at Lawry's. Ken wanted to have a dinner that he can sink his teeth into (literally). But the best feature was that the whole family was able to sit down and celebrate again. In future years, Ken might not spend his summer in Singapore because of internship, etc.

So this might be the last time we celebrate his birthday as a family. But it was good!

.. so good to find a place that we like

.. so good to find another apartment that all of us were happy with. We finally exercised an option on a unit at Blue Horizon (Block 25, #14-15). It is a much smaller unit (less cleaning) than Flynn Park but sufficient for the 3 of us to stay.

We might even retire to this place eventually. Hoping to rent out for a couple of years before moving in after we sell Flynn Park. But it is good to finally get that task done.

.. so good that Jon is finally called to Bar

.. so good to see Jon be accepted into the Bar. The final step to being a lawyer. It was a rather solemn ceremony presided by the CJ. The president of the law society and CJ both gave short speeches focussed on not being arrogant, helping out the poor, continuous education and being professional.

Finally, Jon is independent. So good that at least one birdie is now flying on his own. Now it is up to him to chart his own course.

...so good that Ken has completed Freshman year

Ken received his spring term results this morning. Overall, he received 1 A and 3 A- and has a GPA of 3.75 which far exceeds our expectations. This is especially since he was really busy with the squash season, trying to adjust to a new environment and haven't hit books for 3 years because of National Service.

Well done! We are so thankful and proud.
