... so good to have a final lunch at Equinox

before they replace the Feed at Raffles program. It is a pity that AMEX has decided to discontinue this perk which was the main reason for Jon to retain his AMEX card.

The view was great

 the dessert was fabulous

Of course, the company was even better. Must do this more often

... so good to end the year with a great Musical

The gals (Fong Oi and Oi Lin), the Lees (Yew Kong and Tiak Cher) and Chan (Connie and I) went to watch the musical 'Wicked' at Marina Bay Sands on the last night of the year. We went early to beat the count down crowd but all the eateries were still too crowded to get in. So we had to settle for dinner at ToastBox! But it was a great time to chat and the show was tremendously entertaining.

It was well worth the $120+ ticket each - this was after at 50% discount that we secured through Connie's collegaue. On the way out of the area, we saw the crowd heading into the Marina waterfront for the count down. We are just too old for the crowds!

... so that Lai Fong finally find her life partner

Lai Fong and Thomas tied the knot today at Living Sanctuary Brethen Church. Kenneth couldn't attend as he had exams and did not finish till last night (morning US time). Dinner was at the Peninsula Hotel - most of the uncle and aunties from mum side was there as well as our cousin from dad's side.

... so good that Christmas came early!

Christmas came early this year. For the longest time, I have been thinking of buying the Mac Air but just couldn't bring myself to spend $2,000 on a new notebook. It was so cool for Jon to offer to get it for me as Christmas and birthday gift! So good to have a filial son.

... so good to have breakfast at Mac, West Coast Park

It is so good to take a break and have a quiet breakfast at Mac @ West Coast Park. Last night, the Volvo broke down with a spoiled alternator and the repair would be more than $2,000. Not a great way to start the week but taking breakfast at West Coast Park helps to restore the tranquility of retired life. Just have to decide to spend more on repairs on just change car. But life is good.

..so good to be back at the gym

This is the view as I sweat it out on the treadmill at Keppel. Very inspirational (also watching the US whipped the International team for the President's Cup). Makes exercising more bearable. Life is truly great.

... so good to have found the solution to columbarium quandary

For the longest time, I have been searching for a solution to the issue of our ashes being left at some forgotten faraway columbarium that is not visited by anyone (grandchildren or great grandchildren who has no real relations with us). Found this web site that makes bronze urns that can be kept at home. They also have one that is meant to store the remains of a couple. Hopefully one of the boys will decide to keep the urn in their home.
