... so good to finally confirm the fate of Keppel Club

It has been confirmed by the Ministry of Law that Keppel will not have the lease renewed nor will the club be given an alternative location. Guess the good news is that we can now finally move on and work on alternative plans.

Of course, the bad news is that we will not have land in Singapore for a golf course. The Chairman, president and management committee are working on various options including working with the labour foundation on the public course use, working with local clubs that have more than 18 holes, working with overseas clubs (Malaysian or Indonesian) and having just a social club in Singapore.

Attended a town hall meeting where many of the old timers are fixated with appealing the decision despite the president saying that all their arguments have been presented and the Cabinet has decided.

It was also interesting that many members want to reduce/remove transfer fee to sell their membership or run down the reserves. More interesting were the ones that complain about making bad decision to convert to transferable membership. Seems like Singaporeans love to complain and expect all their bad decisions (investment or otherwise) to be protected or compensated by authorities.

Anyway, as for me - just play as many games as I can between now and then to get my money's worth!
