... so good for Ken to get a second Ivy League championship

...so good for the Yale term to defend their Ivy League Championship. The team don't have an star players but won because they have the depth and unity in the team. That is what team sports about - working together as a team and not just relying on a couple of star players. Princeton, Cornel and Harvard had more star players but lost out to a Yale team that is deep throughout the line up!

... so good to visit the grandmas over Chinese New Year

at All Saints Home on 3rd Feb 2011

at Orange Valley on 3rd Feb 2011

... she looks so alert. Who would have guess that she has been in coma for 2.5 years. It is a good tradition to visit close relatives (at least once a year)!

..so good to get that priceless 'Hole-in-one

Keppel Club 6th hole, 7 iron, 1 swing, 1 hop and a couple of roll and plop! Priceless.

This is one of the dream achievement for any golfer and I am so glad that I did it on 29 Jan 2011. It was unbeleiveable. Steven and I were down 2 holes in the second sixes after Tony had produced 2 pars to win two holes. Tony teed off - 20 feet to the right of the pin. Steven answered 10 feet to the left of the pin. Kang Heng was 10 feet beyong. They alll walked towards the buggy. I lined up, swung - a high draw! Bounced one, rolled and disappeared. Did it go behind the flag? They were shouting. The flight in front was shouting. It was a 'Hole-in-one'.

These are the moments that keeps us playing despite spraying shots the whole day!

...so good to have another Christmas gathering

This will be the last Christmas at Flynn Park as we will be out of here by next Christmas. All were there except for the Lees who are still in the US. The usual traditional Christmas spread was on - ham, roast beef, potato salad (by David, Johnny's second son), mushroom soup, garlic bread, fruits, ice cream log cake, apple cake (from Fong Oi). Good time of fellowship and foodship recounting our blessings!
Wonder where we will be doing this next year!

... so good to attend a concert with Connie

Last night, Connie and I attended a concert at the Resort World Sentosa (Casino ..er .. Integrated resort). It was great entertainment. Despite her age, she still have the same powerful vocals and stage presence. Of course, it was partially because of the great selection of songs she sang. Anthony Yung, the musical director, also made some special arrangements for the songs that were choosen from movies as far back as the 1960s and through the decades. She had to sing 'Shanghai Tang'- the song that made her famous and she ended on Abba's 'Thank you for the music' with some slight twist in the words to thank the audience. What a performer!
It is not often that we attend musicals but this was a great show and we thorougly enjoyed it. Just make us want to attend more concerts.

...so good for Yale to win the Ivy Scrimmage again

Yale University hosted the annual Ivy Scrimmages. As scrimmages, the results don’t count toward national or Ivy League rankings. The competition did, however, give a sense of where teams stand coming into the start of the season. Yale captured both the men’s and women’s Ivy Scrimmages, a feat that the Bulldogs had never previously accomplished in the same year. The win by the Yale women included a 6-3 victory over top-ranked defending national champions Harvard.

...so good to find a buyer for Flynn Park

Last weekend, we received a check for the option to purchase Flynn Park from Claire and her Dutch hubby. We are really glad to find a buyer that really appreciates the unit (and the surroundings) and could meet our asking price (or close enough). Now start the big process of preparing Blue Horizon for us. We are really excited about the opportunity to renovate it to our tastes and needs. It is just another milestone in Connie and my life as we move closer to the sunset part of the life cycle. I am so glad that we are looking forward to it rather than dreading it

The photo of the kitchen before we moved in.. maybe I will get a shot of Flynn Park after the renovation. That was in 1991 - 20 years ago!
